Private Acupuncture

Private Acupuncture Treatment may be utilized to provide the much-needed relief from a stubborn or complicated medical issue. It allows different parts of the body to be treated directly as well as for additional methods of stimulation to be added to the treatment when appropriate.

Massage

Massage therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for the purpose of normalizing those tissues. The basic philosophy of massage therapy embraces the concept of vis medicatrix naturae, which means “aiding the ability of the body to heal itself.”

Cupping

Cupping is a simple and effective therapeutic technique which can be used alone or in combination with acupuncture or massage therapy. The purpose of cupping is to enhance circulation, to help relieve pain, and to pull out the toxins that linger in your body’s tissues.

Community Acupuncture

Community treatments work well for many of our patients. Affordable, effective, and easy to schedule, these sessions take full advantage of many of the strongest acupuncture points located on the head, ears, arms and legs.

Education & Certification

All of the acupuncturists at Urban Acupuncture Center meet the highest standards of education and certification required to practice acupuncture.

Most practicing acupuncturists in the United States are ‘licensed acupuncturists.’ Though licensing requirements vary by state, licensing boards generally require an approximately 2000-hour curriculum completed over 3 years of post-graduate study from an accredited school. Additionally, practitioners must successfully complete the national board examinations brokered by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). The practice of acupuncture in Ohio requires both national certification by the NCCAOM as well as licensure issued by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
